Seven connected waterfalls and natural pools in the Atlantic forest. Our favorite family day-trip — and the one that ends with a caipirinha at a forest bar.
Sete Quedas ("seven falls") is exactly what it says: a staircase of seven small waterfalls on the Rio Pequeno, each with its own pool. You can walk the whole chain in under an hour or pick a favorite pool and stay for the afternoon.
The trail is wide, mostly flat, and works for kids and grandparents. At the top of the falls there's a small open-air restaurant run by a family — simple Brazilian food, cold beer, and a view back down through the forest.
Best in the late morning when the light angles through the canopy and the pools turn green-gold. Pack a swimsuit and towels; the bigger pools are deep enough for a proper swim.
It's also one of the best rainy-day trips — the forest feels different, the falls run harder, and the restaurant stays open.
Tell Bianca your preferred day and number of guests — she'll book it through her partners and hold the spot.
